BioChemical Engineer Description The Digital Healthcare business group seeks a biochemical engineer with experience developing biochemical workflows and using multiple analytical techniques to characterize biochemical samples. The BioChemical Engineer will prepare samples to be used in characterizing a novel fluorescence imaging platform. This platform can be customized to enable a unique performance/cost value proposition in a variety of biological, medical and pharmaceutical applications. The successful candidate will use the novel platform to analyze the biochemical samples they prepare, as well as perform any other complimentary analytical measurements. They will need extensive experience with hands on sample preparation and optics-based analytical techniques. The candidate will analyse the data from the novel system and complimentary data, present conclusions to the group, and participate in development of additional experimental plans. The candidate must be self-motivated, self-directed, data driven in the decision-making process and creative in problem solving. The candidate must have excellent communication skills and a team-first mentality, as s/he will work with diverse colleagues across multiple geographic sites. Roles & Responsibilities The successful candidate will: Develop workflows for biochemical sample preparation and characterization Use a novel fluorescence imaging system to analyse biochemical samples Perform data analysis and synthesize conclusions from experiments Perform any additional biochemical analysis experiments such as gel electrophoresis, PCR, etc. as required Work with peers to prioritize and coordinate activities Contribute to design improvements and IP generation Qualifications & Requirements.Required:
PhD in Biochemical Engineering Research experience in developing workflows and preparing biological samples Expertise with standard biochemical analytical techniques such as GE, PCR, LC, MS, etc. Experience in automated data collection and analysis Strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills coupled with a demonstrated ability to work at a high level of performance both independently and in teams. An inquisitive nature and willingness to tackle multi-disciplinary challenges. Python programming skills For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce- Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State
