Job Title:
Process Engineer Job Description The Process Engineer will execute a structured startup and stabilization approach that includes on-the-job training, process validation, mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, operator readiness support, and performance optimization. The role focuses on accelerating line readiness and startup for newly installed or relocated manufacturing equipment, stabilizing performance through structured troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions, and optimizing throughput and quality via process improvements and standard work development. Responsibilities Support documentation and training for sustainable handoff to operations. Develop process parameter matrix and golden settings where applicable. Create top loss Pareto and weekly improvement action plan. Update SOP work instructions and process control documentation. Provide ramp plan reporting including throughput vs target, constraints, and next actions. Maintain downtime logs with failure mode categorization. Document corrective action records and verification checks. Develop recommended spares list and early-life failure prevention actions. Update troubleshooting guides and PM adjustments as approved. Essential Skills Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience. 1-3 years of manufacturing experience. Advanced process troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Ability to establish baseline metrics such as cycle time, yield, scrap, and OEE contributors. Strong documentation and standard work creation capability. Operator and technician support experience, including on-the-job training. Additional Skills & Qualifications Process engineering. Continuous improvement. Manufacturing process. Robotic process automation. Developing and verifying process settings and recipes for stable quality and throughput. Creating process characterization plans. Supporting validation and qualification activities. Performing structured problem solving using 5-Why, fishbone, and DOE-lite. Standardizing operating conditions and documenting best-known methods. Collaborating with maintenance, operations, and quality teams for sustained improvements. Assisting with changeovers, equipment alignment, and minor modifications. Work Environment This role is based at the Oxford, NC facility and supports across all three shifts. Initially, all resources will start on the first shift, with a transition to the second shift anticipated. The work environment includes collaboration with maintenance, operations, and quality teams to ensure sustained improvements and rapid response troubleshooting for mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical faults. The facility provides an opportunity to engage with OEM and vendor coordination during startup issues, ensuring a dynamic and supportive work culture. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Oxford, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $48.00/hr.
