We're looking for an experienced SMT Engineer who enjoys solving manufacturing challenges, improving processes, and working with cutting-edge technology. If you're passionate about electronics manufacturing, thrive in a hands-on environment, and want to make a direct impact on production quality and efficiency, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Do As our SMT Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring our PCB assembly operations run smoothly and efficiently. You'll work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve manufacturability, optimize processes, and support both prototype and production builds.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting new product introductions and improving product manufacturability Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and safety Developing and refining manufacturing workflows and assembly processes Leading PFMEAs and manufacturing reviews Assisting with quoting and manufacturing estimates for new opportunities Planning and recommending capital equipment investments Performing time studies and implementing process improvements Identifying and implementing automation opportunities Monitoring production metrics and using data to drive decisions Leading prototype and production builds Maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving SMT equipment Ensuring products meet quality, performance, and compliance requirements Preparing reports and communicating manufacturing performance to leadership What We're Looking For Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in SMT, PCBA, or electronics manufacturing Strong knowledge of electronics manufacturing practices, including ESD control Hands-on experience with SMT production equipment such as: Screen printers Pick-and-place machines Reflow ovens Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Experience with manufacturing quality systems and performance metrics Knowledge of ISO standards and quality requirements Experience working with ERP systems Strong analytical skills with the ability to create dashboards and communicate data effectively Preferred Qualifications Experience implementing or supporting MES and ERP systems Knowledge of robotics, automation, and advanced manufacturing technologies Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical field Why Join Packet Digital?
