Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Chemical Engineer that has good experience doing project engineering and project management for chemical plants to join our innovative team. In this role, you will do capital projects for our client in Rochester, NY.
You will do the following:
Job Duties Provide plant engineering support to production teams. Project engineer and manage capital expense projects working for Plant Engineering Manager. Pumping systems design, batch tank design, pipe and valve sizing, PSV and relief calculations, other chemical engineering calculations Process Calculations on heat exchangers, chillers, and new equipment specifications (batch tanks, cooling towers, boilers etc.) Installation of equipment, tanks, pumps, and supporting equipment. Good engineering experience in Chemical plant (5-10 years) Advise Engineering Management and Plant Management on process improvements, equipment improvements, and best work practices. Ability to create and maintain engineering documentation inclusive of Process Flow Diagrams, P&ID Creation, MOCs, JSAs, Capital Requests, and Isometric Piping Diagram approvals. AutoCAD a plus, not necessary. Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D piping design process; design reviews, 3D models, P&ID diagrams, and project BOMs. Pipe Designers do the detailed design work. Ability to work with QA and QC to improve process and production results. Chemical plant shutdown experience and project planning/management experience. Familiarity with PSM, GMP, and experience to manage EHS considerations with projects. Work Permit Issuance experience a plus Technical leadership role for chemical plant Qualifications BS or higher in Chemical Engineering from an accredited program. PE a big plus 5-10+ years' experience in a chemical plant. Salary commensurate with experience. Good chemical plant capital project experience, 5+ years minimum Project leadership and ability to train more junior engineers in the key competencies therein. Good customer relationship skills to maintain our client relationships on technical and relational levels. Self-starter with leadership ability to site technical leadership Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for manufacturing applications using process engineering principles. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement lean manufacturing techniques and improve operational efficiency. Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and AutoCAD tools to create detailed process layouts and system schematics. Manage project schedules, coordinate resources, and ensure timely completion of engineering projects.
Pay:
$150,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
