Job Description

onsemi 's semiconductor fabrication facility in Syracuse, NY is looking for a MOCVD Engineer to join the team. Our technology enables the next generation of power conversion, accelerating the transition to high efficiency, high power conversion solutions and inspiring new power system architectures. PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related field 2+ years of experience with compound semiconductor epitaxy process development and/or process engineering (industry experience with Aixtron MOCVD equipment is preferred) Project leadership experience with excellent oral and written communication skills Experience with SPC, DOE, and/or FMEA is a plus onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $88,700.00-$142,000.00 range exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members. //www.onsemi.com/site/pdf/Benefits-Summary-USA.pdf The MOCVD Process Engineer's primary responsibility is to develop and qualify advanced MOCVD processes for wide bandgap and high power transistors. This Engineer will lead projects focused on epi performance, process control, wafer characterization, and process qualification while producing the epi wafers needed by their fab colleagues to deliver the overall team's program goals. This role requires an efficient and effective collaborator with a team-first attitude; this role will interact closely with process engineering, process integration, and device teams to deliver, sustain, and improve wafer attributes for device performance and yield. The individual in this role must be self-motivated and hands-on with an ability to contribute independently. The nature of this technical program within onsemi requires this individual to be hard-working and flexible in their support of the program's objectives. An ideal candidate for this role is data-driven and detail-oriented with experience developing processes from ideation through to qualification for production. This role reports in to the Director of MOCVD Engineering.
