Full Job Description Process Technician Location:
Akron, OH Shifts Available:
3pm•11:30pm
Pay:
$30•$37p/h Position Summary Responsible for developing, optimizing and troubleshooting injection molding processes , supporting production efficiency, quality and mold changeovers. Acts as a technical lead for mold setters/processors and may provide shift supervision when required. Key Responsibilities Develop, optimize and troubleshoot injection molding processes using engineered and commodity resins. Perform mold setups, start-ups, new mold qualifications and pilot runs . Troubleshoot injection molding machines, molds, gas-assist systems, robotics, dryers, thermolators and auxiliary equipment . Monitor and improve cycle times, scrap rates, press performance and process efficiency . Train mold setters/processors and material handlers on processing techniques and equipment operation. Identify tooling/mold issues and coordinate with Engineering, Tooling and Production. Maintain accurate production, setup and process documentation in line with SOP/ISO requirements . Provide technical leadership and fill in as Shift Supervisor/Foreman when required. Requirements 5+ years of advanced injection molding/process technician experience . Strong knowledge of mold setups, hookups, machine controls, start-ups and gas-assist molding . Experience with engineering resins, resin mixing and processing . Strong troubleshooting and process-optimization skills. Able to work independently and make decisions around equipment, production and personnel issues . High school diploma or higher. Able to lift 25+ lbs , work at heights and operate in a physical manufacturing environment. Flexibility for overtime, weekends and occasional other shifts as required.
