Job Description

Job Description Process Technicians are responsible for setting up the injection molding machines to the defined process specification, while minimizing scrap and downtime. Primary Responsibilities
  • Providing support for the transfer/installation of molds and resin based off of production needs.
  • Install molds or change mold inserts to meet changeover schedules
  • Startup, shutdown, and operate injection molding machines
  • Support the development of new and existing operators
  • Provide verbal updates, status of work, technical problems, and their solutions to colleagues during shift change meetings
  • Participate in special projects as required
  • Follow and maintain an environmental health and safe work environment conditions by complying with all Hanon Systems Integrated Management System procedures, standards, and regulations Years of Experience
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years relevant injection molding experience Degree Preferred
  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required Desired Competencies, Experience, & Qualifications
  • Knowledge of plastics technology, including: screws and barrels, molding material delivery systems, temperature control units, grinders, dryers, hotrunners, and their applications
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission systems
  • Basic knowledge of mold design
  • Knowledge of computers, programs, and their applications as needed

  • Use of department tools and equipment, including material handling equipment Special Requirements (i.e.: Overtime, Travel, etc.)

  • Injection Molding Tech 1
  • Complete mold changes based off production schedule.
  • Basic understanding of an injection mold process.
  • Basic understanding of robot function.
  • Basic understanding of auxiliary equipment and how it effects the process.
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical repairs (ex: repair water hoses, vacuum hoses, and EOAT suction cups, and etc.).
  • PM cavity and core surfaces at start-up. Minimum once per shift.
  • Flexibility to work overtime including weekends
  • Minimum US and International travel required Tech 2
  • The ability to complete Tech 1 tasks.
  • Intermediate understanding of an injection mold process and the ability to make parameter changes that will eliminate scrap concerns.
  • Intermediate understanding of robot function and the ability to make changes to the program to keep production running.
  • Intermediate understanding of auxiliary equipment and how it effects the process.
  • Flexibility to work overtime including weekends
  • Minimum US and International travel required Tech 3
  • The ability to complete Tech 1 and Tech 2 tasks.
  • Advanced skills in troubleshooting with the ability to create injection molding parameters for new processes.
  • Advanced skills in robot programming with the ability to write programs for new processes.
  • Work with Engineering in process development of the injection molding process through parameter optimization, cycle time reduction activities, and trials that will lead to a robust process.
  • Strong understanding of tool design with the ability to communicate with the Tooling Department on changes needed to improve processes.
  • Flexibility to work overtime including weekends
  • Minimum US and International travel required

From $25.04 per hour
