Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Mold Setter specializing in Plastic Injection to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting molds and auxiliary equipment used in plastics injection molding processes. This role requires a strong understanding of industrial equipment, robotic systems, and safety protocols to ensure efficient production and high-quality output. The Mold Setter will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth changeovers, equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety standards. Duties Safely mount and dismount molds using overhead cranes, ensuring proper handling and placement. Connect and disconnect water lines, hydraulic lines, and electrical connections for molds during setup and changeovers. Configure auxiliary equipment such as robot pickers, conveyors, dryers, and thermolaters to support the molding process. Perform preventive maintenance on molds including cleaning, greasing, and inspecting for wear or damage. Operate robotic systems involved in the injection molding process for automation efficiency. Troubleshoot industrial equipment related to plastics injection molding and extrusion processes to minimize downtime. Follow safety protocols diligently, including maintaining a safe "Lockout/Tagout" (LOTO) environment during maintenance activities. Keep work areas clean and organized to promote a safe working environment. Complete changeover reports accurately and document process parameters for quality control and process improvement. Qualifications Proven experience in plastics injection molding or related industrial manufacturing environments. Knowledge of plastics extrusion processes is preferred. Familiarity with robotic systems used in manufacturing settings. Strong troubleshooting skills for industrial equipment related to molding and extrusion machinery. Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and handle heavy molds with care. Understanding of safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) practices. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills for documentation purposes. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
