Process Technician

Job Description

Job Summary:
Join our dynamic manufacturing team as an Injection Molding Process Technician! The Process Technician is responsible for establishing and optimizing molding processes at the start of each production run. Using defined parameters and principles of scientific molding, they apply strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to ensure the process consistently produces parts that meet established quality standards. Throughout the run, the Process Technician monitors performance, adjusts parameters as needed, and documents all process changes. This role works closely with material suppliers, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to address all aspects of the molding process and drive continuous improvement across operations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Set up Press Operating Parameters
  • Working from defined parameters, apply knowledge of scientific molding and cause and effect to optimize the process to produce product that conforms to established criteria. Maintain the process throughout the production run to continue to optimize parameters and record process revisions Troubleshoot Molding Process and Machine Issues
  • Develop root cause and provide alternative solutions and make repairs and/or adjustments to correct molding process issues (flash, short-shots, sink, splay, burn, etc.) for maximum efficiency and minimum scrap levels Process Optimization
  • Change settings on process controllers to regulate pressure, temperature, and speed and feed rates, and to set cycle times in order to ensure process optimization according to customer and machine specifications Achieve Optimal Processing Parameters
  • Maintain cavitation, cycle efficiency in order to achieve optimal processing parameters. Drive cycle time improvements ISO Compliance
  • Ensure that the Maintenance Department remains in compliance with the requirements of the International Standards Organization and the registration agency. Improvement, Preventive and Corrective Actions
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement, corrective and preventive action, and customer satisfaction initiatives. Housekeeping
  • Maintain housekeeping of the defined maintenance area per defined requirements
Education and Experience:
2-5 years industry experience. Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and setup sheets Ability to multi-task Strong attention to detail Effective communication and teamwork skills
Physical Skills and Requirements:
Physically capable of standing and walking for long periods Lifting 50-55 pounds regularly Performing manual tasks like bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching
