  • 130,000 + Annual Bonus A well-established plastics manufacturer near Slatersville, RI is looking for an experienced Tooling and Engineering Manager to lead our engineering and tool room departments.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with deep injection molding and tool design expertise who is ready to manage people, projects, and process improvement at the same time. You'll oversee new product development, tooling, and automation projects from concept through launch, provide quotations to sales, and lead a team of engineers and tool room staff. You'll work closely with customers, vendors, and internal departments to keep projects on schedule and on budget, while driving continuous improvement across the plant. What You'll Do Manage capital projects, project schedules, and product economics for new and existing tooling programs Lead product, mold design, and automation design reviews to ensure projects meet quality and performance goals Provide engineering quotations to the sales team Supervise and develop engineering and tool room personnel, including scheduling, training, performance, and adherence to safety policies Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers and vendors on tooling and engineering matters Drive process and quality improvements across engineering, tooling, and manufacturing operations Travel occasionally (1-2 trips per month, domestic and limited international) to support vendor and customer relationships What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) 10+ years of experience in injection molding and tool design Proven experience managing a technical department, tool room, or automation team Strong working knowledge of CAD and 3D simulation software Excellent communication and customer-facing skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure Cap design, unscrewing mold, or hot runner multi-cavity mold experience a plus Lean/Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) training a plus What's Offered $125,000
