Job Description
- Standard Job Description
- Analyzes, researches, designs and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems.
- This is a second shift position working 2pm to 12am midnight Tuesday through Friday.
- Basic Qualifications
- + Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, System Engineering or other related technical field. + Must be a US citizen or able to work in the US. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. + Active Secret Clearance.
- Desired Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with one or more of the following techniques: surface preparation and bonding, mixing and application of adhesives, sealants, and sprayed materials, interpreting NDI (non-destructive inspection) data, interpreting mechanical test data (lap shear, flatwise tensile, etc.), autoclave cure cycle evaluation, organic coating evaluation such as thickness or adhesion testing.
- Familiarity with Environmental, Safety and Health requirements. Knowledge of SDS (Safety Data Sheets).
- Familiarity with Serviceflo. Familiarity with Depot operations. Experience using hand tools (orbital sander, micrometer, hardness testing).
- Specification, engineering test plan, or other technical writing experience.
- Low Observables Materials familiarity desired.
- Experience with using or executing material evaluations with modern lab evaluation hardware including but not limited to: DSC, DMA, various forms of Spectroscopy, environmental/physical/mechanical test equipment.
- Applicant should be able to support customer and supplier interactions.
- Familiarity with procurement processes and practices.
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis
- Experience in production environment

Full-Time Salary Range:
