Want to apply your process engineering expertise for established and new automated processing lines for a Fortune 500 Company with some of the most iconic brands? If you have a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering along with five plus years of process engineering experience, we want to speak with you! We are currently seeking a Sr. Chemical Engineer II to join our Altria Compounds Manufacturing & Operations group in Richmond, VA. What will you be doing? Excelling in a team environment with excellent communication and customer skills, while at the same time working technically independent. Providing problem-solving support to maintenance staff to quickly diagnose equipment, controls, and processing issues. Leading and managing capital projects. Specifying and sizing piping and equipment and developing datasheets (including instrumentation) for capital projects. Developing/redlining process PFD and P&IDs. Ensuring projects meet quality, engineering specification/standards, industry standards, and cost and schedule requirements for projects. We want you to have? BS Chemical Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience Strong background in Chemical Engineering and process theory. Working knowledge of unit operations and process fundamentals (including process controls). Experience maintaining and solving processes which use steam is a plus. Proven ability to diagnose and resolve operational challenges in process piping and pumping systems within a manufacturing or chemical processing environment. Strong cause-effect analytical and problem-solving abilities. Process development and process design experience. Experience maintaining and solving processes which use steam is strongly preferred. Expertise with Clean in Place systems is preferred. GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) processing / GMP requirements knowledge is preferred. Working knowledge of project management.
