Job Description

Sirius Staffing is hiring a Structural Engineer in the Mobile, AL area. You must have an Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in a U.S. state; the ability to obtain Alabama reciprocity; and heavy industrial environment experience. This role is for a growing professional engineering services team to support local industrial projects.

Pay Range:
up to $208,000 (Based on experience, technical capability, leadership background, and overall qualifications) The Structural Engineer/PE will support analysis, design, optimization, and troubleshooting of structural systems across oil & gas, chemical, petrochemical, power, and related industrial facilities. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform structural analysis and design for steel and concrete systems in industrial facilities, including pipe racks, platforms, buildings, equipment supports, and foundations.

Prepare and review structural calculations, reports, specifications, and construction drawing packages.

Evaluate applicable loading conditions and incorporate geotechnical recommendations into foundation and structural designs.

Coordinate with designers and multidisciplinary engineering teams to produce accurate, constructible drawings and details.

Support brownfield projects through field walkdowns, structural evaluations, retrofits, and modifications.

Provide construction and field engineering support, including shop‑drawing review, RFIs, site visits, and resolution of field issues.

Participate in design, constructability, and safety reviews.

At senior levels, lead structural work packages and mentor junior engineers and designers. Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis) or Bachelor's/Master's in Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.

Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in a U.S. state; ability to obtain Alabama reciprocity.10-20+ years of structural engineering experience in industrial environments (oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, power, heavy industrial, EPC).Strong experience with structural steel and reinforced‑concrete design for industrial facilities.

Proficiency with structural analysis/design software (STAAD.Pro, RISA, SAP2000, ETABS, RAM) and engineering calculation tools (Mathcad or similar).Working knowledge of
AISC, ACI, ASCE
7, IBC, and applicable client/site standards.

Experience preparing and reviewing structural calculations, reports, specifications, and construction documents.

Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment and manage multiple assignments.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred:
Structural Engineer (SE) license; EPC client‑facing experience; leadership and mentoring experience.
