Job Description

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is currently looking for a degreed Sr Structural Engineer with at least 10 years of heavy industrial experience to fill a contract position in Birmingham, AL.
JOB REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES
The SR Structural Engineer 1 position requires 10+ years heavy industrial/power plant/transmission experience and an accredited bachelor's degree in engineering.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Providing structural engineering services and field support Conducting preparation of designs and calculations Conducting site walk downs of construction sites Developing cost estimates and material takeoffs Providing schedule and staffing input for projects Producing and checking structural steel design calculations and drawings.
SKILLSETS & EXPERTISE
Detailed knowledge of structural steel and concrete design principles and industry methodologies Significant structural steel connection design experience Proficiency with structural codes and standards Extensive knowledge of heavy industrial structures and components Strong computer skills - proficiency with structural computer programs such as
STAAD PRO
Proficiency with OSHA regulations Ability to coordinate and manage multiple large scale, multi-discipline projects Ability to perform structural inspections and provide written reports Strong problem solving and decision making abilities Ability to build effective relationships.
