Full-Time Position Summary The Project Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the Project Manager throughout the planning, execution, and close-out phases of construction projects. This position ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. The Project Engineer serves as the primary liaison between the company and clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies. Key Responsibilities Assist with project setup and preconstruction activities , including issuing purchase orders, coordinating vendors, and managing subcontracts Support development of baseline schedules and 3-week look-ahead plans in collaboration with the Project Manager and Superintendent Prepare and review material submittals and assist in subcontractor and supplier vetting Monitor and update project schedules , and resolve construction-related challenges Conduct site surveys and ensure adherence to project specifications and safety regulations Maintain daily job cost tracking and field logs Verify and procure construction materials, ensuring accuracy and budget alignment Oversee quality control and assurance throughout the project lifecycle Ensure compliance with scope of work, plans, specifications, and safety standards Prepare reports and documentation as required Perform other duties as assigned by management Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering Management, Civil Engineering , or related field desirable Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience in construction project support Strong understanding of construction processes, safety protocols , and regulatory compliance Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite ; experience with Viewpoint and Bid2Win is a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER or 8-Hour Refresher Certification required Physical Demands Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit , and operate a computer Occasionally required to lift/move up to 50 pounds , climb ladders, and navigate uneven terrain Must have close vision and the ability to adjust focus Frequent exposure to outdoor conditions , including inclement weather and construction equipment Must be safety-conscious and able to recognize and respond to visual and audible safety signals Requires manual dexterity, stamina, and physical coordination for fieldwork Work Environment Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, loud noise, and outdoor environments Must be able to ascend/descend ladders and stairs , operate hand and power tools, and perform physical tasks such as stooping, kneeling, and crouching Occasional participation in bid walks and site visits on uneven terrain
