Job Description
We're seeking an experienced Low Voltage Project Engineer with 7+ years of experience in structured cabling, network infrastructure, and low-voltage systems. This role combines technical expertise, client-facing consultation, site assessments, solution development, and project leadership to support successful project delivery from planning through implementation. Ideal candidates enjoy solving complex technical challenges, working with cross-functional teams, and ensuring projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and according to industry standards. This position includes regular travel to client sites, including occasional overnight travel. Qualifications 7+ years of experience in structured cabling, network infrastructure, low-voltage systems, or a related field Experience conducting on-site assessments and technical discovery meetings Strong knowledge of structured cabling standards, installation best practices, and low-voltage infrastructure Experience reviewing technical drawings, specifications, blueprints, and construction documents Ability to develop scopes of work, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical recommendations Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, and internal project teams Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Comfortable working independently and managing multiple projects simultaneously Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Experience working with project management and documentation platforms is preferred Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed Technical Assessments & Solution Development Conduct client site assessments and evaluate existing low-voltage environments Gather project requirements and develop practical, buildable solutions Participate in project kickoff meetings and pre-design reviews Create and review scopes of work and bills of materials (BOMs) Provide technical recommendations aligned with project goals, budgets, and schedules Design Review & Quality Assurance Review technical designs and project documentation for accuracy and constructability Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and missing scope items Validate proposed solutions with vendors and implementation teams Ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements Project Delivery & Implementation Support Provide technical leadership during implementation phases Resolve project-related technical issues and support field teams Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to approved scope and standards Coordinate vendors, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle Participate in punch-list reviews and project closeout activities Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as a subject matter expert on structured cabling and low-voltage infrastructure Support project managers, account managers, and internal teams with technical guidance Help improve processes, documentation, and project delivery consistency Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices Contribute to a collaborative, solutions-focused team environment Equal Opportunity Employer / Disabled / Protected Veterans The Know Your Rights poster is available here: https://www.eeoc.gov/sites/default/files/2023-06/22-088_EEOC_KnowYourRights6.12.pdf The pay transparency policy is available here: https://www.dol.gov/sites/dolgov/files/ofccp/pdf/pay-transp_%20English_formattedESQA508c.pdf For temporary assignments lasting 13 weeks or longer, AppleOne is pleased to offer major medical, dental, vision, 401k and any statutory sick pay where required.
