Senior Civil Engineer Description:
This position is considered a management level classification. Under general direction, performs advanced and complex professional civil engineering work and serves in a technical and administrative leadership capacity within the Engineering Division. Plans, organizes, manages, and coordinates the design, review, permitting, construction, and delivery of public works, capital improvement, utility, and private development projects. Serves as project manager for major engineering and infrastructure initiatives; oversees consultant and construction contracts; develops and administers project budgets; prepares technical and administrative reports; and secures and administers grant and other funding opportunities. Education:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
Experience:
Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional civil engineering experience involving the design, review, and construction of public works or capital improvement projects. Experience in a municipal environment and experience providing technical direction or project management are highly desirable.
