Job Description
Sr Building Engineer onsite in Milpitas, CA
Working under general direction, monitors building system operations andperformance. Has critical, specialized knowledge required at a Life Sciences/Pharmaceutical GMP client site. This is a fully onsite role in Milpitas, CA Monday-Friday with core hours ofabout 7am-3:30pm and some overtime as needed. Must hold valid & active driver's license. What you'll do Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency andCompany directives related to building operations and work safety. Operates, maintains, monitors, and performs preventive, predictive, andcorrective maintenance on building equipment, which may include: mechanical/HVAC/plumbing systems, electrical/cabling, fire detection andsuppression, life safety, lighting, temperature control systems, buildingmanagement systems, and digital systems. BMS experience with Metasys preferred. Maintains the professional appearances of the property, equipment, engineeringspaces, and common areas. Maintains the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairsor replacements. Prepares estimates detailing the amount of time and materials needed forcompleting tasks. Maintains adequate supplies and tools and orders necessarymaterials to complete all tasks. Maintains an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operateall systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum. Oversees and inspects the work performed by outside contractors. Contractedwork may include landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC, plumbing, andcleaning. Performs work in compliance with standard operating procedures and/or criticalwork packages, and maintenance work instructions. Performs specialized and complex tasks such as carpentry, electrical, painting,roofing, HVAC, welding, furniture assembly/relocation and locksmith tasks.
Performs inspection of building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, plumbingand electrical. Uses pc and/or pda for work order system, email, ESS and training. Responds toemergency situations and customer concerns. Performs other duties as assigned. What you'll need Strong HVAC/ Mechanical repairs and BMS systems withMetasys preferred. Universal EPA preferred or the ability to obtain after being hired. Must hold active & valid drivers license. Flexibility with hours to work overtime as needed.
