Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is partnering with a large local utility as they grow their Electric Transmission Engineering organization. We are looking for Electric Transmission Project Engineer to resolves moderately complex problems using standard solutions. Independently plans work under general direction to meet objectives as well as support design work and be responsible for converting conceptual ideas into practical, functional designs that meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards. This position leads the engineering and design of complex projects, applying independent judgment and working with minimal supervision. The engineer collaborates with project managers, construction teams, and other stakeholders to assess project needs and deliver effective solutions. Key Responsibilities
  • Provides technical expertise and performs engineering analyses, studies, and conceptual designs.
  • Prepares and presents findings to internal teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Conducts site walkdowns and design review meetings.
  • Develops technical documents, including design criteria, specifications, and reports.
  • Evaluates and recommends alternative project proposals.
  • Prepares and reviews contracts and proposals from engineering consultants for technical compliance.
  • Interprets and applies relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Assists in root cause analysis and develops restoration plans.
  • Approves reports, new drawings, and revisions to existing drawings.
  • Responds promptly to facility failures during emergencies.
  • Represents the company in interactions with government agencies as required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited U.S. program or equivalent international program.
  • Minimum of three years of cumulative engineering and design experience. - 3+ yrs experience specifically within Electric Transmission - reconductoring, build jobs, etc. & overhead experience
  • Strong understanding of project team roles and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision to meet project commitments.
  • Skilled in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in interpreting and applying codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Provides thorough analysis and justification for recommendations.
  • Takes ownership of issues and drives solutions.
- experience with PLSCADD Active California PE license preferred undergrounding experience
