We are looking for a professional and responsible Engineer to provide support to Project Managers & the Field Team, responsible for managing all administrative aspects of a construction project.
Position Purpose and Essential Duties:
Our Project Engineers are responsible for assisting Project Managers/Estimators and Superintendents in coordinating the project activities from start to finish. Duties include but are not limited to: Support management to achieve project profitability and schedule goals Attend and document project meetings (write minutes) Set up and maintain electronic filing system Update and maintain all sets of drawings, specifications and logs Assist with preparation of project schedules Evaluate and understand basic construction means and methods Maintain a site-specific safety plan and pre-task planning process, including audits, meetings, training, etc. Distribute documents to subcontractors and maintain document logs Review, analyze, and transmit submittals Prepare and maintain submittal logs and procurement logs Perform expediting functions Cost code and/or verify correct codes on time sheets Code Accounts Payable Workflows as assigned Verify original estimate quantities for labor cost reports Report quantities in place and maintain labor cost report Prepare and document extra work orders Review and assemble change order submittals and quantity surveys Maintain change order log Maintain progress photo album Compile contract close out documents (O&M manuals, as-builts, etc.) Maintain record set drawings Document punch list work Complete other responsibilities as assigned Needed Skills Analytical thinking, attention to detail, initiative, and problem solving. Physically capable and able to perform a full day outdoors. Ability to learn quickly and have the desire to understand all aspects of a construction project from start to finish. Excellent oral and written communication skills Team oriented Good organizational and time management skills Able to effectively coordinate several projects simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to individually prioritize and handle a large workload. Qualifications Needed Construction experience required. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Project Engineer experience preferred. Plan Swift & Autodesk knowledge a plus.
