Job Description
Established Central Coast area general contractor seeking motivated, professional, and career minded Construction Project Engineer serving our San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura County locations. Position Overview Project Engineer candidates must have a passion for the construction process and be able to effectively support administrative and operational staff members. Ideal candidates should possess the desire to learn while contributing to the team, must be coachable, ability to manage time and tasks, and possess the basic understanding of the construction process. Key Responsibilities
- Support and project controls to Project Managers and Superintendents.
- Perform estimating and preconstruction planning as directed.
- Desire to maintain and enforce company policy and contract requirements.
- Supporting and maintaining Company Safety Program with staff and trade partners.
- Working closely with project staff to assist, identify and solve problems
- Learning and applying all methods to ensure project is completed on schedule, within budget and with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications
- Document and resolve changes in the work.
- Tactful and professional attitude and dealings at all times. Qualifications
- Two (2) years' construction experience in commercial construction or equivalent work and/or a 4 year degree in construction management, engineering, or related disciplines a plus.
- Strong task manager and ability to work without constant supervision.
- Strong communicator, oral and written.
- Must be a team player and possess the desire to serve the company and its clients.
- Must possess basic computer skills with proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and
- MS Word.
