Job Description We are seeking a Senior Transportation Design Engineer to lead the design and delivery of roadway and highway projects for local agencies and state transportation clients. This position combines hands-on technical design work with project management, client engagement, and mentorship of junior staff. Responsibilities Lead transportation design projects from concept development through PS&E delivery. Prepare and review roadway plans, specifications, estimates, and technical reports. Apply Caltrans and local agency standards to transportation improvement projects. Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality control requirements. Coordinate with clients, agencies, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and training to junior engineers. Support proposal preparation, client presentations, and business development efforts. Assist with construction support and project implementation activities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Active California Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Minimum of 9 years of transportation design engineering experience. Strong knowledge of Caltrans standards, procedures, and design requirements. Experience utilizing CAD software for transportation projects. Background in preparing PS&E packages and design reports. Proven project management experience, including budget and schedule oversight. Strong communication and client relationship management skills. Familiarity with
HDM, PDPM, CAMUTCD, AASHTO
Green Book, and related design standards. Compensation Base salary ranging from $120,000
