$70,000-$115,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and professional licensure Earth Engineering Consultants, LLC (EEC) is seeking a motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Northern Colorado. We are open to candidates at multiple experience levels, from an early-career Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to an experienced Professional Engineer (PE). This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of geotechnical engineering projects throughout Colorado and the surrounding region. Responsibilities and level of project ownership will be tailored to the successful candidate's experience, technical abilities, and professional licensure. At EEC, our engineers are involved throughout the project lifecycle, including subsurface exploration, laboratory testing, engineering analysis, report preparation, construction support, and direct interaction with clients and contractors. This provides opportunities to develop broad technical expertise and progress into project management and technical leadership roles. Responsibilities Depending on experience, responsibilities may include: Plan and coordinate geotechnical subsurface investigations Perform and/or oversee field investigations and evaluate soil, rock, and groundwater conditions Review laboratory and field testing results Perform geotechnical engineering analyses Develop recommendations for foundations, floor slabs, pavements, earthwork, retaining structures, and other geotechnical applications Prepare geotechnical engineering reports, proposals, and technical correspondence Provide engineering support during construction and assist with resolution of field-related issues Coordinate with clients, contractors, architects, structural engineers, civil engineers, and other project team members Assist with or manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets More experienced engineers may also: Manage geotechnical projects from proposal through completion Serve as the primary point of contact for clients Review technical reports and engineering recommendations Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and field personnel Participate in business development and long-term client relationships Take on increasing technical, project management, and leadership responsibilities within the firm
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related engineering discipline EIT certification or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Valid driver's license and ability to perform field work as needed
Preferred:
Experience in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, or related civil engineering work Experience with subsurface investigations and soil and rock classification Experience performing geotechnical engineering analyses and preparing technical reports Experience working directly with clients and contractors For experienced candidates, Colorado PE licensure or the ability to obtain Colorado licensure Coursework in geotechnical engineering, soil mechanics, foundation engineering, or related subjects Internship or prior experience in civil or geotechnical engineering Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline Compensation & Benefits EEC offers competitive compensation based on geotechnical engineering experience, qualifications, and professional licensure.
