Job Description

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Building Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained property. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in troubleshooting a variety of mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems Monitor building systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency Respond promptly to tenant service requests and maintenance issues Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and building codes Assist with emergency situations and on-call responsibilities as required
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as a Building Engineer or in a similar maintenance role Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals EPA Certification (preferred) Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic computer skills
