Civil Project Engineer / EIT - Land Development & Site Design Legend Engineering Group | Jacksonville Beach, FL $78,000-$98,000/year | Full-Time | Monday-Friday | In-Office Are you a Civil Engineer/EIT looking for more direct involvement in your projects, the opportunity to grow your technical responsibility, and mentorship from an experienced Professional Engineer? Legend Engineering Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer / EIT to join its Jacksonville Beach team. This is a hands-on engineering role supporting land development and site design projects throughout Northeast Florida—from initial planning and design through permitting and project delivery. We're looking for someone who enjoys the technical side of engineering but also works well with others, communicates proactively, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and wants to continue growing professionally in a small, collaborative engineering firm . What You'll Do Prepare and coordinate civil engineering designs for land and site development projects. Work on site layout, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility design. Perform engineering calculations and technical analysis. Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D to develop and modify construction plans. Support permitting and respond to agency review comments. Coordinate with clients, consultants, surveyors, architects, contractors, utilities, and regulatory agencies. Help manage project priorities, deliverables, and deadlines. Identify potential design conflicts or technical concerns and communicate them proactively. Work directly with a Professional Engineer while developing greater project responsibility and independence.
What We're Looking For Required:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university. Current Engineer Intern/Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification . Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D . Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines. Professional communication and strong follow-through. Ability to work independently while also knowing when to seek technical guidance. Ability to work effectively as part of a small, collaborative team.Preferred:
Approximately 2-6 years of civil engineering experience . At least 1-2 years of practical Civil 3D experience . Land development and/or site development experience. Experience with grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility design. Experience preparing construction plans and permitting documents. Experience coordinating with local governmental or regulatory agencies. Schedule & Location This is a primarily in-office position in Jacksonville Beach, Florida , generally working approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Some schedule flexibility may be required based on project deadlines, client meetings, agency coordination, and site visits. Occasional local travel throughout Northeast Florida may also be required.Benefits Legend Engineering offers:
