Senior Engineer - Civil & Structural Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to support and lead civil and structural engineering activities for power generation projects. This position will be responsible for the design, analysis, review, and execution of structural systems associated with major power generation equipment and facilities. The Senior Engineer will provide technical leadership to engineers and technical staff while working closely with customers, project management, construction, supply chain, quality, and other engineering disciplines. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in steel structures, concrete foundations, structural analysis, and heavy industrial or power generation projects. Key Responsibilities Perform, review, comment on, and approve engineering designs and structural analyses for steel structures and reinforced concrete foundations. Lead civil and structural engineering activities for assigned projects and provide technical direction to engineers and technical staff. Collect, interpret, and integrate engineering requirements from customers, suppliers, internal teams, and international engineering partners. Develop and review technical requirements supporting project proposals, bids, and execution. Serve as a technical representative during customer discussions related to civil and structural engineering. Design and evaluate structural systems associated with turbine-generator foundations, rotating equipment, air intake filter houses, equipment enclosures, piping supports, and related structures. Coordinate structural interfaces and foundation requirements with internal and external engineering teams. Collaborate with Project Management, Construction Services, Supply Chain, Quality, and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues. Review project schedules and identify critical or expedited engineering activities. Lead technical reviews and communicate project engineering status. Support the standardization and simplification of structural designs to improve efficiency and reduce project costs. Train and mentor engineers in structural analysis, engineering calculations, technical reports, and engineering judgment. Prepare and review engineering budgets, bids, technical requirements, and commercial requirements. Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with applicable engineering codes and standards. Provide leadership with feedback regarding assigned Civil/Structural personnel and support continuous team development. Assist with recruiting and onboarding qualified Civil/Structural engineering professionals. Perform additional engineering and project responsibilities as required. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required Minimum 10 years of relevant Civil/Structural engineering experience Strong experience with structural steel and reinforced concrete design and analysis Strong knowledge of
ASCE 7, IBC, AISC 360, ACI
318, OSHA, and applicable industry standards Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, calculations, procedures, and regulatory requirements Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively with customers, engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders Strong technical writing and presentation skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Ability to travel up to 10%, including potential international travel Preferred Experience Experience in one or more of the following is strongly preferred: Gas turbine or power generation projects Turbine-generator foundations Foundations for rotating equipment Heavy industrial facilities Auxiliary power generation systems Nuclear engineering Dynamic equipment foundations Knowledge of
