Job Description
Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing innovative structural designs, conducting comprehensive structural analyses, and ensuring compliance with building codes and construction regulations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in civil engineering principles, extensive experience with structural analysis tools, and proficiency in building information modeling (BIM) software. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to diverse projects, from commercial buildings to infrastructure developments, utilizing advanced engineering practices and technical expertise to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable structures. Duties Develop detailed structural designs for various building types, including steel, concrete, masonry, and geotechnical systems, ensuring adherence to client specifications and regulatory standards. Perform complex structural analysis using advanced tools such as FEAs (Finite Element Analysis), Mathcad, and other structural analysis software to evaluate load capacities and system stability. Utilize CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Civil 3D, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools for drafting, modeling, and documentation of structural components. Conduct building code analysis to ensure all designs meet local and international construction regulations and safety standards. Collaborate with project managers and clients to develop project schedules, coordinate design efforts, and communicate technical details effectively. Prepare technical reports, calculations, and documentation to support design decisions and facilitate project approvals. Oversee construction phases by providing technical guidance on system design implementation and resolving on-site issues related to structural integrity. Stay current with advancements in civil engineering practices, materials technology, and sustainable design methodologies. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable. Proven experience in developing structural designs for commercial or industrial projects with a focus on steel and concrete structures. Proficiency in structural analysis tools such as FEAs software, Mathcad, and other relevant analysis programs. Extensive knowledge of building codes, construction regulations, and safety standards across multiple jurisdictions. Skilled in the use of CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Civil 3D, and BIM platforms. Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles relevant to foundation design. Excellent communication skills for client interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration. Demonstrated ability in project management including scheduling using project management tools; experience with Bluebeam for document review is advantageous. Familiarity with GIS systems for site analysis is a plus. Prior construction experience is beneficial for practical insight into field conditions. Pay:
