We are currently searching for a Structural Engineering Intern to join our Federal Buildings team in Koxville, TN or Orlando, FL, working on projects that enable the heart of our clients' business. As an intern with our team you can expect to design everything from new, multi-building complexes to intricate historic structure renovations! We'll rely on you to support our teams on critical projects while fostering a culture of continuous learning and inclusion. You'll work alongside professional engineers and designers, gaining exposure to project coordination, relevant computer-assisted engineering software, data collection and more. With mentorship and guidance from our Professional Engineers and technical experts, we will count on you to assist in the performance of structural analysis and design for our projects. Our North American Internship Program will allow you to engage with interdisciplinary counterparts and senior leadership across all business units and geographies- giving you a chance to network, explore the company, and learn more about our dynamic industry. To be successful in this position you will need strong communication and interpersonal skills as you work closely with your Structural Lead, Project Managers, Professional Engineers, and Designers across different disciplines. As part of this team, you will perform increasingly complex calculations and analysis as the structural design is developed, and learn to work with our Designers to get the structural requirements communicated on paper and in the model. Your internship will build on your structural coursework, exposing you to multiple subject areas, and learning how structural design integrates with and impacts other disciplines. You will also develop understanding of principles of analysis and design of vertical and lateral structural systems in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
