A growing Florida-based civil and environmental engineering firm is seeking a Civil/Environmental Engineer, PE to join its Sarasota/Lakewood Ranch/Tampa-area operations. This is a unique career opportunity for an experienced engineer who wants to take the next step professionally while working directly with senior leadership on innovative engineering, water, environmental, and business initiatives. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow into positions such as Technical Lead, Project Manager, or Client Services Manager, while gaining exposure to both technical project delivery and client/business development. Key Responsibilities Prepare or oversee engineering calculations, AutoCAD 3D designs, assessments, studies, master plans, models, construction drawings, specifications, permit applications, and technical reports. Serve as a Project Manager or Technical Lead based on project size and complexity. Lead pilot studies, technical reports, GIS/CADD/modeling efforts, CEI services, and stakeholder outreach. Support business development activities, proposals, presentations, project schedules, budgets, and cost evaluations. Research emerging technologies, regulations, engineering methods, and industry best practices. Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, vendors, and internal project teams. Provide technical leadership and oversight to engineers, CADD designers, and other support staff. Contribute to planning, engineering design, project execution, asset management, and design-build initiatives. Participate in client meetings and occasional site visits throughout Southwest and West Central Florida. Support the President and senior leadership on key technical and client initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. 5+ years of professional engineering experience; 8-15 years preferred. Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain Florida PE licensure within four months. Hands-on private-sector engineering and project experience. Experience with water, wastewater, reclaimed water, water resources, site development, or related civil/environmental projects. Project management experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team. Ability to oversee and mentor engineers, CADD designers, and other technical staff. Knowledge of Florida engineering practices, regulations, and permitting requirements. Valid driver's license and excellent driving record. Preferred Qualifications AutoCAD 3D experience. GIS experience. Hydraulic or engineering modeling experience. Database management experience. Master's degree in water/wastewater, water resources, site development, or a related field.
