Engineer II - Land Development Sarasota, Florida Build What's Next in Sarasota At Pape-Dawson, we believe great communities start with great engineering. Our Land Development team partners with developers, architects, municipalities, and other professionals to transform ideas into thoughtfully planned, well-designed places where people live, work, and thrive. We are looking for an Engineer II to join our growing Sarasota team . This is an opportunity for a motivated civil engineer to take the next step in their career, work alongside experienced professionals, and contribute to a diverse portfolio of commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects throughout the region. You'll have the opportunity to expand your technical skills, gain greater ownership of project work, and build the experience needed to advance toward project management and professional licensure. What You'll Do As an Engineer II, you'll play an active role in the planning, design, and delivery of land development projects. Working alongside senior engineers and project managers, you'll progressively take on more responsibility while developing your technical expertise and project leadership skills. Land Development Design and prepare civil site development plans for commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects , including grading, drainage, paving, utilities, and site layout. Perform grading, earthwork, drainage, and stormwater management analyses and prepare supporting calculations. Develop construction documents, technical reports, exhibits, and other deliverables required to move projects from concept through permitting and construction. Support zoning, entitlement, and permitting efforts by preparing technical documentation and coordinating with reviewing agencies. Coordinate with project managers, senior engineers, surveyors, landscape architects, and other disciplines to develop practical, constructible solutions. Work with regulatory agencies and project stakeholders to address comments, resolve issues, and help keep projects moving forward. Apply applicable local, state, and federal codes, standards, and regulations to project design. Communicate technical information clearly through plans, calculations, reports, exhibits, meetings, and day-to-day coordination. Manage assigned project tasks and deliverables while maintaining quality and meeting established schedules. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program . Engineer-in-Training (EIT/EI) certification . At least 1 year of relevant civil or land development engineering experience . Working knowledge of civil engineering design principles, practices, codes, and standards. Experience with common engineering design software, drafting tools, and Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills. Ability to communicate effectively with team members, clients, consultants, and regulatory agencies. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines. A desire to continue developing technically and professionally toward professional engineering licensure .
