Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Career Geotechnical Engineer to join our geoenvironmental and geotechnical practice in our Atlanta, or Kennesaw, GA; Austin, TX; or Birmingham, AL office. The position will apply engineering skills to projects involving landfills, mines, brownfields redevelopment, and other water and waste containment systems while further developing the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

The successful candidate will support geotechnical analyses, calculations, technical reporting, and project execution, helping to expand the team's technical capacity while developing toward project management and client-facing responsibilities. http://www.geosyntec.com/careers/. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Civil design, landfill design, and site layout. Geotechnical engineering analyses such as slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, seismic, and seepage. Geotechnical and environmental site characterization. Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems. Small project/task management and proposal preparation support. Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications. Fieldwork associated with design and construction services. Based on your current level of experience, you may be asked to take on task-level or project management responsibilities, along with business development, and staff mentoring tasks. Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed. Education and Licensure Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering. (required) Advanced degree in the same. (preferred) Professional registration (i.e., P.E., P.G.). (preferred) Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain EIT certification within 2 years of hire. (preferred) Skills, Experience and Qualifications At least 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required) Experience with modeling/design tools such as AUTOCAD, Slope/W, PLAXIS, FLAC, and GIS. (preferred) Occasional fieldwork and overnight travel. (required). Excellent writing and communication skills. (required) Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
