Civil Engineering Intern | Bettendorf, IA 100% Employee-Owned • Big-firm resources, local-team relationships, ONE IMEG culture This posting is for Summer 2027 Internship opportunities. IMEG is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern in Bettendorf, IA to support engineering analysis, design, field inspections, report writing, permit applications, and site drainage and grading design. Over 10-12 weeks, you will gain hands-on experience while learning the civil engineering trade alongside experienced engineers and consultants. You will contribute to project documentation, coordination, and job site observations while helping the team work within project budgets and meet project goals and client expectations. Not available What You'll Do Assist with civil design work in accordance with code and IMEG standards Research commercially available equipment and resources Support client relations, project design notebooks, and permanent record documentation Coordinate design and scheduling with other disciplines and suppliers Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project progress Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement What You'll Bring Education and Experience Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred Skills/Abilities May be required to assist with field duties such as surveying and materials testing Strong interest in design consulting Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and BIM Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups Why IMEG We put people at the center of who we are, creating positive outcomes for people, communities, and our planet.
