- Structured Cabling is a technical lead responsible for supporting the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of low-voltage and structured cabling systems.
This role provides advanced field support, ensures installation quality, assists with project closeout activities, and acts as a technical resource for field teams, project managers, estimating, and customers. Key Responsibilities Install, test, troubleshoot, and support structured cabling and low-voltage systems. Diagnose equipment and system issues and provide advanced technical support in the field. Verify installation quality, labeling, connectivity, and system functionality. Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation. Create shop drawings, submittals, and technical documentation for project kickoff. Lead technical project execution with minimal supervision. Support field technicians, Crew Leads, and Project Managers during project execution. Perform project quality audits, testing, and punch list creation. Assist with project closeouts and turnover documentation. Conduct site surveys and field walks for new projects and change orders. Develop detailed scope narratives, constructability reviews, and site assessment reports. Identify existing conditions, infrastructure challenges, and installation constraints. Coordinate with subcontractors during pre-construction activities and site assessments. Serve as a liaison between field operations and estimating teams. Assist with training initiatives, workflow development, and best-practice documentation. Required Skills & Competencies Self-motivated, professional, and positive individual capable of leading initiatives and supporting process improvements. Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues with low-voltage systems, network infrastructure, and new installations. Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation abilities. Strong customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain customer relationships. Ability to mentor, support, and guide field personnel when needed. Advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, technical specifications, reports, and quality standards. Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously. Strong organizational and project coordination skills. Willingness to travel throughout branch and regional territories.
