Job Description

Project Engineer - Structural Steel Job Are you a structural engineer who enjoys seeing your designs move beyond the computer screen and into fabrication? We are seeking a Project Engineer to join a well-established structural steel manufacturing and fabrication organization. This position combines engineering design, project support, customer interaction, and collaboration with production, detailing, and sales. You won't be stuck doing the same calculations every day. You'll have the opportunity to influence active projects, support new business opportunities, develop engineering tools, and work directly with the people who turn engineered designs into finished steel structures. What You'll Do Develop structural steel connection designs in accordance with current AISC standards and project specifications. Prepare preliminary structural steel designs supporting estimating and new project pursuits. Work closely with production, detailing, sales, and engineering teams. Review technical information and help solve project-specific engineering challenges. Develop engineering calculations, applications, and design tools for company-wide use. Prepare and deliver technical presentations when needed. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field . Strong understanding of AISC steel design standards . Experience with SDS/2 structural detailing/design software . Experience with RAM structural analysis software . Experience with MathCAD or similar engineering calculation software . Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Preferred PE license or EIT actively pursuing PE. Experience within structural steel fabrication, manufacturing, or an AEC environment. Familiarity with steel fabrication processes and shop drawings. Why Join This Team?
