Job Duties:
Perform three dimensional (3D) structural analysis and finite element modelling for complex concrete and structural steel bridges, such as curved, movable and segmental bridges. Perform fracture critical, element level, in-depth & routine bridge inspections, and assessment for structural simple, advanced, typical advanced and curved steel bridges. Perform bridge structural rating in accordance with AASHTO, IDOT and Tollway Standards for Advanced, Advanced Typical and complex concrete bridges utilizing AASHTOWare BrR Software or utilizing data output from a 3D finite element model to rate the structure utilizing in house Mathcad and excel design calculation files. Model 3D bridge geometry and layouts in OpenBridge Designer and OpenRoads. Preparation of bridge condition reports in accordance with IDOT and Tollway guidelines and standards.
Preparation of Life Cycle Cost Analysis:
an economical evaluation technique that evaluates the total cost of owning, operating, maintaining and disposing of a bridge over its entire life, rather than its initial rehabilitation cost. Assist a Design Build master planning team to develop all required documents for ongoing and future design-built projects. Assist the structural team in field inspection, assessment, load rating and structural repair plans for residential, recreational and commercial buildings. Assist the young engineers and interns in providing guidance and directions to complete their tasks to meet client's expectations. Supervises employees.
