Structural Engineer - Illinois Licensed S.E.About the OpportunityOur client is a multi-state licensed structural engineering firm with a long-standing presence in the industry and extensive experience delivering structural engineering solutions for a wide range of construction and renovation projects. The firm's project experience includes steel, concrete, wood, masonry, and precast structures, as well as new construction, remodeling, structural evaluations, and construction-related consulting.

Our client is seeking a self-motivated Structural Engineer who can independently manage projects with minimal oversight, from the proposal phase through construction administration.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare structural design calculations, drawings, specifications, design analyses, and construction cost estimates.

Develop structural documents for new construction and remodeling of existing structures.

Perform construction-related services, including:

Shop drawing reviewsResponses to Requests for Information (RFIs)Periodic construction site observationsSpecialized structural inspections as neededCollaborate with architects, designers, building contractors, and other project stakeholders throughout the design and construction process.

Provide structural engineering solutions for projects involving steel, concrete, wood, masonry, and precast construction.

Assist with the evaluation of existing structures, including assessment of distressed or deteriorated conditions.

Provide consultation related to construction methods, cost comparisons, and value engineering.

Manage assigned projects from the proposal phase through construction administration with minimal supervision.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Illinois Licensed Structural Engineer (S.E.) required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and manage projects with minimal oversight.

Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to prepare accurate structural calculations and design documents.

Ability to collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, designers, and other engineering professionals.

Preferred ExperienceExperience with structural design involving steel, concrete, wood, masonry, and/or precast construction.

Experience providing construction administration and field observation services.

Experience with structural evaluations and existing building assessments.

Familiarity with construction methods, value engineering, and cost considerations.
