Job Description:
As a Project Engineer with our earthmoving construction company, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing various earthmoving projects. We focus our work site development in the power generation industry, industrial/manufacturing facilities, airports and highways. You will work closely with project managers, administration assistants, superintendents, and clients to ensure that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and within budgetary constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination:
Collaborate with project managers to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets. Coordinate with estimating teams to ensure accurate understanding of the project specifications, plans and requirements. Supervise earthmoving activities on construction sites to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications. Monitor progress and performance and implement adjustments as necessary to meet project deadlines. Address any technical issues or concerns that may arise during construction activities.
Quality Assurance and Safety:
Implement quality control measures to ensure that work meets industry standards and client expectations. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address safety hazards on construction sites. Promote a culture of safety among project teams and subcontractors and enforce compliance with safety regulations.
Communication:
Serve as a point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies regarding project progress and issues. Provide regular updates to project managers and superintendents on project status, budget, and outstanding issues. Facilitate meetings and discussions to resolve conflicts or address project-related concerns.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily progress reports, change orders, and as-built drawings. Prepare comprehensive project documentation for internal review and client approval. Generate performance reports and analysis to evaluate project success and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Previous experience in earthmoving or heavy civil construction projects is highly desirable. Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera, Procore, AutoCAD). Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
