  • a Pittsburg, KS-based firm delivering civil, structural, environmental, inspection, and surveying services across Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma
  • has a 30‑year record of partnering with municipalities, state agencies, and private developers on water, wastewater, and land‑development projects. Position Overview EEI is seeking a Civil Engineer with broad, generalist civil design experience to join our growing team. This role will work across a range of project types
  • land development, subdivisions, grading and drainage, roadways, and municipal utilities
  • developing designs, preparing plans and specifications, and communicating regularly with clients, developers, and community leaders and staff.

Key Responsibilities Design and develop civil site plans for land development and subdivision projects, including grading plans, lot layouts, and utility plans Prepare drainage studies, storm sewer designs, stormwater management plans, and detention pond layouts Design streets, roadways, and related infrastructure for public and private clients Support municipal water and wastewater projects as needed, including waterlines, sanitary sewers, lift stations, and treatment facilities/lagoons Prepare detailed engineering reports, plans, specifications, and permit submittals for municipal, state, and private clients Assist in client management, including regular communication with developers, community leaders, and municipal staff Coordinate with project managers and senior engineers on project scheduling, budgets, and deliverable Qualifications Bachelor's degree in civil engineering Broad civil design experience across land development, grading/drainage, roadway, or municipal utility projects preferred Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus, but not required
  • candidates without a PE should have a clear interest in pursuing licensure Autodesk Civil 3D experience preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort presenting to and working directly with clients, developers, and municipal staff Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at once
