2988840898-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Marathon Petroleum seeks a River Engineer to support safe, reliable operations along rivers and waterways serving our refining and logistics assets. You will analyze hydraulic conditions, design and maintain river structures, and support pipeline and terminal projects near waterways. Responsibilities include permitting, flood and erosion risk assessment, emergency response planning, and collaboration with operations, environmental, and safety teams. Leverage modeling tools and field inspections to ensure integrity of river-related infrastructure and compliance with environmental and regulatory standards. Responsibilities Perform river and hydraulic analyses to support refining and logistics assets near waterways Design and review river-related structures, bank stabilization, and erosion control measures Develop and maintain hydraulic and flood models using tools such as HEC-RASSupport permitting and regulatory compliance for river and floodplain projects Conduct field inspections to assess river conditions, infrastructure integrity, and risks Collaborate with operations, safety, and environmental teams on risk mitigation and emergency planning Prepare technical reports, drawings, and documentation for projects and regulators Manage engineering tasks, schedules, and coordination with consultants and contractors Required Skills River engineering Hydraulic modeling (HEC-RAS or similar) Hydrology and flood analysis Civil/structural design Coastal and bank stabilization methods Environmental and regulatory compliance GIS and mapping tools Risk assessment and mitigation Project management Technical reporting and documentation
