Job Description
Precast Engineer Direct Hire-Full time Lake Charles, LA Position Summary Contracting Company is seeking a Precast Engineer responsible for the design, analysis, and technical support of prestressed and precast concrete systems. This role supports projects from design through fabrication and erection while ensuring compliance with engineering standards and project requirements. Key Responsibilities Perform structural design and analysis of precast and prestressed concrete elements, including beams, columns, wall panels, piles, and specialty systems. Prepare and review engineering calculations, shop drawings, and erection drawings. Support fabrication, production, and field erection activities by resolving technical and constructability issues. Collaborate with detailers, production teams, quality teams, and field personnel. Review RFIs, submittals, and design revisions. Ensure designs comply with IBC, ACI, and PCI standards. Support value engineering and design optimization efforts. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. 4+ years of structural engineering experience with exposure to precast, prestressed concrete, buildings, foundations, or related structural systems. Engineer Intern (EI) certification required; PE preferred. Knowledge of structural analysis, concrete design, load paths, connections, and erection stability. Experience with structural design software such as ETABS, Tekla Tedds, Eriksson Technologies, or similar tools. Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills. Preferred Experience Precast/prestressed concrete design experience. PCI standards knowledge. Experience with fabrication and erection processes.
