Engineering/Design Schedule:
Full-Time, Onsite Sirius Staffing is seeking an experienced Director of Engineering for a full-time opportunity in Lake Charles, Louisiana. This position will lead the Engineering Department and serve as the firm's primary Professional of Record and Structural Professional of Record. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Professional Engineer with extensive structural engineering leadership experience and advanced knowledge of precast and prestressed concrete. ResponsibilitiesServe as the Supervising Professional responsible for maintaining the firm's Louisiana engineering license.

Ensure engineering services are performed under the responsible charge of a licensed Professional Engineer in compliance with LAPELS requirements.

Maintain applicable engineering board licenses, policies, and procedures.

Direct departmental staffing, workloads, technical standards, budgets, and long-range planning.

Serve as the primary Professional of Record and Structural Professional of Record for sealed engineering work.

Assign and oversee project-specific POR and SEOR responsibilities across licensed staff.

Establish and enforce independent design-review and quality-control procedures.

Oversee the structural integrity, quality, and code compliance of engineering deliverables.

Coordinate engineering activities with operations, precast fabrication, quality, and field teams.

Identify and manage engineering risk and professional-liability exposure.

Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering and detailing personnel.

Direct research and development involving proprietary embeds, connections, and processes.

Maintain company engineering standards, design aids, and technical resources.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline required; advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of 15 years of structural engineering experience.

Extensive precast and prestressed concrete experience required.

Engineering-department leadership or responsible-charge experience required.

Active Professional Engineer license required.

Active Louisiana PE license or the ability to obtain it promptly through comity.

Must qualify to serve as the firm's Supervising Professional under LAPELS requirements.

Expert knowledge of PCI design standards, connection design, load paths, and erection stability.

Strong command of IBC, ACI, PCI, ASCE, AISC, and related codes and standards.

Familiarity with structural engineering platforms such as ETABS, RISA, SAP2000, and finite element analysis software.

Strong leadership, business judgment, risk-management, and communication skills.

Pre-Employment and Safety RequirementsMust successfully complete a background check, drug screening, physical testing, and required onboarding.

Must comply with applicable workplace and site safety requirements.

Required personal protective equipment is provided except for steel-toed boots.
