$75,000-$80,000 annually , based on experience and qualifications Our client are seeking an experienced Senior Building Engineer to support the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and reliability of a large commercial facility. This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining a wide range of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, controls, lighting, and life-safety equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, broad facilities experience, and the ability to work independently while supporting a professional building operations team. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on building systems and equipment. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, controls, lighting, and life-safety systems. Monitor building systems and respond to equipment issues, alarms, and emergency situations. Perform routine inspections and identify potential equipment or system failures. Complete work orders and maintain accurate maintenance and service records. Operate and monitor building automation and control systems. Coordinate and oversee work performed by outside contractors and service providers. Assist with facility projects, equipment installations, upgrades, and system improvements. Support energy-efficiency initiatives and reliable building operations. Provide technical assistance and guidance to other maintenance personnel. Maintain tools, equipment, parts, and work areas in a safe and organized condition. Follow all applicable safety procedures, building codes, OSHA requirements, and facility standards. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 4+ years of experience in commercial building maintenance, facilities engineering, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or related systems. Universal CFC certification required. Additional certifications in electrical, HVAC/refrigeration, mechanical systems, controls, or related trades preferred. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Ability to read technical manuals, drawings, schematics, and building documentation. Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred. Strong communication and customer-service skills.
