• Structured Cabling is responsible for leading the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and support of structured cabling systems in commercial, industrial, data center, and mission-critical environments.

This position serves as a technical resource for field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry standards and customer requirements. The Senior Field Engineer provides technical leadership, mentors junior technicians, and works closely with project teams, customers, and vendors to deliver high-quality telecommunications infrastructure solutions. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Technical Leadership Lead installation, termination, testing, and certification of copper and fiber optic cabling systems. Provide technical guidance and support to field technicians and project teams. Review project drawings, specifications, and scope documents to ensure compliance. Identify and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning phases. Assist with project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation. Structured Cabling Installation Install and support Category 5e, Category 6, Category 6A, and fiber optic cabling systems. Perform copper and fiber terminations, splicing, and patch panel installations. Install cable pathways including conduit, cable tray, ladder rack, basket tray, and J-hooks. Install and support telecommunications rooms, MDFs, IDFs, and data center infrastructure. Ensure all installations meet BICSI, TIA/EIA, NEC, and customer standards. Testing and Troubleshooting Perform cable testing and certification using Fluke and other industry-standard test equipment. Conduct OTDR, power meter, and fiber certification testing. Diagnose and troubleshoot network infrastructure issues. Analyze test results and provide corrective actions when needed. Generate and review test reports and project closeout documentation. Project Coordination Coordinate field activities with project managers, superintendents, customers, and subcontractors. Participate in project meetings and status updates. Track project progress and communicate risks, issues, and delays. Assist with change orders, material management, and quality assurance inspections. Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within scope. Safety and Compliance Promote and enforce company safety policies and procedures. Conduct work in accordance with OSHA regulations and site-specific safety requirements. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks. Ensure all work meets quality control and customer expectations. Min USD $35.00/Hr. Max USD $45.00/Hr.

Qualifications Physical and Mental Requirements:

Regular attendance is mandatory The General Superintendent must be self-motivated, positive in approach, and convey an appropriate professional image. The General Superintendent must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners. The General Superintendent must possess proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s). The General Superintendent must also have excellent organizational skills and the ability to develop branch and job processes and best practices. The General Superintendent must have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements. The General Superintendent must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed. The General Superintendent must possess the ability to learn and teach the Company and customer project management systems. The General Superintendent must be able to work at heights, off of a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds. Must be able to stand and walk very large job sites regularly. The General Superintendent must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.

Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:

Prefer a minimum of five (5) years' experience of supervisory or managerial experience. The General Superintendent must have a minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Lead Communications Technician or similar position. The General Superintendent must also have a minimum of five (5) years' experience in telecommunications or a related technical or construction field. Must be proficient with a computer and be skilled with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project). Must meet Company minimum driving standards. The General Superintendent Must have demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, create an estimate, develop detailed associated tasks and manage these to final completion and customer turnover.
