Job Description

Commercial Building Engineer For Downtown Shreveport Residential / Commercial Buildings We're seeking an experienced and dependable Residential / Commercial Building Engineer to oversee the day-to-day maintenance and operations of our buildings. This is a hands-on position responsible for maintaining building systems, troubleshooting equipment, completing preventive maintenance, responding to service requests, and helping ensure the property remains safe, clean, comfortable, and operational. Responsibilities Inspect and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other building systems. Perform preventive maintenance and routine building inspections. Troubleshoot and repair general building and equipment issues. Respond to maintenance requests from residents, commercial tenants, and property management. Monitor mechanical rooms, equipment, common areas, and parking facilities. Maintain accurate maintenance and service records. Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors when specialized repairs are required. Assist with inspections and maintenance of fire/life-safety systems. Maintain building equipment and mechanical areas in a clean and orderly condition. Identify potential equipment or building problems and address them before they become major issues. Assist with building projects, repairs, and improvements. Respond to building emergencies and after-hours calls as required. Follow all applicable safety procedures and property policies.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in commercial building maintenance, facilities maintenance, building engineering, apartment maintenance, hotel maintenance, or a related field. Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills. Universal EPA Certification Required Ability to safely use hand and power tools. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance needs. Strong communication and customer-service skills. Reliable, dependable, and professional. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, Experience working in a historic or multi-story property Trade certifications or licenses Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
