Job Description

Leidos is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to support Aviation projects within our Engineering & Architecture department. In this role, you will plan, design, and analyze airfield and aviation-related structures, ensuring safety, code compliance, and resilience. You will prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications; coordinate with multidisciplinary teams; and support construction and inspections. Responsibilities Plan and design civil/structural elements for airfield and aviation facilities Perform structural analysis and prepare engineering calculations Develop drawings, specifications, and technical reports Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements Coordinate with architecture, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines Support cost estimates, schedules, and design reviews Provide engineering support during construction and inspections Assist with site assessments and condition evaluations Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve design issues Contribute to continuous improvement, innovation, and quality standards Required Skills Structural analysis and design (steel, concrete, foundations) Civil site design for aviation or transportation projects Familiarity with FAA regulations and design standards Proficiency with structural design software (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000, RISA) Proficiency with Auto CAD and/or Revit Knowledge of building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC) Construction document preparation and detailing Technical report writing and documentation Project coordination and interdisciplinary collaboration Field inspections and construction support
