Job Summary:
Alliance Structural Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer to design wood-framed residential design, particularly single-family homes and townhouses. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong, and enjoys collaborating within a team environment that integrates multiple engineering disciplines (MEP).
Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepare structural calculations, reports, and documentation under the supervision of a senior engineer. Design and analyze wood, steel, and concrete structural systems for residential projects. Prepare and review construction drawings using AutoCAD. Ensure compliance with the International Residential Code (IRC) and other applicable standards. Conduct site visits and provide construction-administration (CA) support as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Thorough understanding of structural engineering principles and practices. Knowledge of concrete, steel, and masonry. Proficient in AutoCAD Ability to identify and solve complex problems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to be both creative and analytical. Proficient in Revit (preferred)
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required). 0-5 years of structural design experience, preferably in residential projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with structural analysis software is a plus. Knowledge of IRC 2018 and newer and relevant structural codes. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Must be able to occasionally travel to and navigate job sites and construction areas.
