Job Description

Our client, a well-established boutique civil engineering and surveying firm, is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer - Project Manager to join its collaborative team in Brunswick, Maine. This position is ideal for a civil engineer with strong site design and land development experience who is ready to take ownership of projects from initial concept through permitting and construction support. Projects include multi-family housing, residential subdivisions, commercial and industrial developments, stormwater retrofits, and mixed-use developments for public- and private-sector clients. Key Responsibilities Lead site/civil engineering and land development projects from initial concept through design, permitting, and construction support. Prepare and review site layouts, grading plans, utility designs, and erosion and sediment control plans. Design and coordinate stormwater management systems. Develop and manage project scopes, contracts, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client expectations. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of engineers, surveyors, planners, landscape professionals, contractors, and technical staff. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies. Prepare engineering reports, permit applications, and supporting technical documentation. Coordinate with municipal and state agencies throughout the permitting and approval process. Attend site visits, field meetings, municipal meetings, planning-board meetings, and public hearings as required. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, municipal staff, and regulatory agencies. Contribute to business development, client retention, and the continued growth of the civil engineering practice. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering strongly preferred. Approximately 4-8+ years of relevant civil engineering experience . Strong site/civil design and private land development experience. Experience with commercial and/or residential development projects. Maine Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Knowledge of municipal and state permitting requirements. Proficiency with AutoCAD required. Experience with HydroCAD or comparable stormwater-design software preferred. Strong written, verbal, organizational, and client-facing communication skills. Ability to travel to project sites and attend municipal or public meetings as needed. Pay:
$90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
