full-time Project Engineer - Commercial/Federal Lang Constructors, Inc. - Flint, MI Full-Time | Salaried | Compensation Based on Experience Lang Constructors is a Michigan-based general contractor performing commercial and federal construction work throughout the Midwest and Southeast. The majority of our work is federal, with projects ranging from renovations and facility improvements to multi-million-dollar construction projects. With several significant projects ahead, we are looking to add a Project Engineer to our team. This position will work closely with our Project Managers and Superintendents throughout all phases of construction and is a good fit for someone who wants to build their project management experience, learn all aspects of the construction process and take on increasing responsibility. What You'll Be Responsible For Assist the Project Manager with the day-to-day management of assigned construction projects Review drawings, specifications and scopes of work Prepare, track and maintain RFIs and submittals Assist with subcontractor and supplier coordination Maintain project documentation, logs and files Assist with project schedules, updates and short-term planning Track project costs, commitments and potential change orders Assist with preparation and documentation of change orders Review subcontractor invoices and supporting documentation Prepare meeting agendas, minutes and follow-up items as needed Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, architects and engineers Track required inspections, testing and project documentation Assist with punch lists, closeout documents, warranties and final project closeout Identify missing information, conflicts and potential project issues and bring them to the Project Manager's attention What We're Looking For 2-5 years of commercial construction experience in a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator or similar role preferred Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field preferred; relevant construction experience will also be considered Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on open items Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project required Comfortable working both independently and as part of a project team Ability to travel occasionally to project sites as needed Valid driver's license Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Health insurance Dental and vision insurance Employer HSA contribution for eligible plans Paid time off Paid holidays Lang is a hands-on construction company with a close-knit team.
