Vanity Fur Pet Spa and Salon is a private, appointment-only dog grooming salon that provides high-quality compassionate care in a calm, professional setting. Position Summary:

We're looking for a Part-Time Dog Groomer to join our team. This role involves performing full-service grooming while maintaining a clean, safe. and welcoming environment. Our ideal candidate would have a completed a certified grooming program or prior professional grooming experience, great client communication skills, money handling, and a caring, patient approach with pets of all temperaments. We do not supply tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide professional grooming services including bathing, blow-drying, brushing, clipping, scissoring, and nail care. Handle pets safely and gently throughout the grooming process. Communicate with clients about their pet's coat condition, grooming needs, and style preferences. Maintain a clean, organized and sanitized work area. Report any signs of illness, injury, or extreme stress in pets to management. Work efficiently to meet appointment schedules without compromising quality or safety. Follow all salon policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Contribute to a friendly, team-oriented work environment. Money handling during the check-out process. Phone communication skills and foresight and competence to schedule dogs. Ability to help the team clean after every day.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Experience:

Minimum 1-year professional grooming experience and/or successful completion of a certified grooming program.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills:

Knowledge of breed-specific cuts and coat maintenance. Strong animal-handling skills and understanding pet behavior. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Dependable, punctual, and professional. Must work well independently and as a part of a small team.

Physical requirements:

Lift, bathe, and manage dogs ranging from 5 lbs. - 100+ lbs. with minimal assistance. Stand, bend, and reach for extended periods (up to six hours per shift). Perform repetitive hand and wrist motions associated with brushing, clipping, and drying. Work safely around wet floors, cleaning agents, and loud dryers.

Monday Tuesday Wednesday Friday Saturdays Appointment Hours:

9:00am -3:00pm Part-time, flexible scheduling available with days and times, Appointment-only salon that also accepts walk-ins during business hours as time allows.

Compensation:

100% of tips go directly to the groomer at the end of every workday. W2 This position is comission based, and percentage is based on skill.
