Position Summary Responsible for supporting the planning, design and execution of civil, earthwork, environmental remediation and infrastructure projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering designs, plans, submittals and construction documents.
- Develop and revise project drawings using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
- Assist with site layout, grading, drainage, earthwork design, utilities, erosion and sediment control layouts.
- Prepare quantity takeoffs.
- Review project plans, specifications and technical documents.
- Support project managers with project planning, scheduling, budgeting and technical coordination.
- Coordinate designs with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies and other project stakeholders.
- Assist with permitting and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Perform engineering calculations and support the preparation of construction submittals and technical reports.
- Conduct site visits and coordinate with field personnel as necessary.
- Support and comply with all components of the health and safety program.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering or related field.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
- 3-5 years of relevant civil engineering experience preferred although qualified entry level candidates may be considered.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D or other comparable civil design and modeling software.
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications and civil/environmental engineering principles.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors on active construction sites in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. with assistance as needed.
- Must have vision and hearing sufficient to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
